マスネの「マノン」：最終場面のマノンの死を前にしたデ・グリュー(＝グリゴーロ）の悲痛な叫び

　今、メトではダムラウ＆グリゴーロの「マノン」上演中。かなりいいと、数年前のネトレプコ＆ベチャワ組を凌駕するできだとも。最終場面のマノンの死を前にしたデ・グリューの叫び声も話題になっています。
　他のテノールさんたち(アラーニャ、アルバレス、ビリャソン、ベチャワ)のデ・グリューは、どうなのかというと、

１、無言(アラーニャ、アルバレス)
２、"No！No！"(ビリャソン)　
３、あ〜は〜と泣く(ベチャワ)

　グリゴーロのデ・グリューは盛大に叫びます。グリゴーロのオリジナルだと思います。2010年のROHでは2秒くらい、今回のメトはかなり長いので、叫ぶというよりは、遠吠えかな....初日の3月9日は6秒くらい、21日は10秒くらい、進化してます。28日の最終日には、音楽が終わるまでのばしちゃうかも。どんなものか最後の部分だけの動画を作ってみました。最初はROH 2010.7.10、2番目はメト2015.3.9、3番目はメト2015.3.21のライブから。



　指揮者と相談してやってるんだと思いますが、ROHのアントニオ・パッパーノは叫び終わるのを待っています。メトのエマニュエル・ヴィヨームは、叫ぶのに音楽をかぶせてます。

　「傷ついた動物の遠吠え」というように述べているレビューもありましたが、いいタイミングで、この部分についての感想を見つけました....
Au finale, quand Manon meurt enfin dans les bras de Des Grieux, Grigolo a laissé exploser toute la tension et la douleur accumulées pendant les cinq actes dans un cri effrayant, effrayant surtout car ce cri n’était pas chanté mais hurlé, ce qui techniquement pour un chanteur est fort difficile à réaliser et qui montre à quel point le ténor italien est maintenant serein sur cette scène du Met qu’il parait tant aimer. Alors que le rideau se baissait, le public restait stupéfié de ce cri. Tous deux furent ovationnés comme il se devait. (At the end of the opera, when Manon dies in Des Grieux’s arms, all the tension and pain accumulated came out in a frightening cry from Grigolo, the fright coming from the fact that this cry was shouted and not sung, which is a pretty risky thing to do and shows how technically fearless Vittorio Grigolo has become. As the curtain went down, the audience was stunned. Both got a well deserved standing ovation.)
